Summer Camps

With the Randolph Academy’s Camps, you don’t have to decide between dance camp, theatre camp or music camp – you can have all three wrapped up in one arts camp.  Campers can explore the arts no matter what their level of development.

BROADWAY BABIES

Discover the wonderful world of musical theatre in this pint-sized version of the Randolph Academy’s year-long program.  This fun-filled four-day camp features singing, acting, dancing and crafts.  Family and friends can also experience the magic in a showcase performance on the final day of camp.

GLEE

Spend summer in the spotlight at our Glee Camp, singing, dancing and acting!  Campers work as an ensemble to create a musical performance with choreographed routines.  Hip hop, vocal, improvisation classes, as well as fun camp activities help build foundational skills and a sense of fun!  Our NEW “Camper’s Choice” will allow campers to express themselves by choosing weekly electives in unique dance styles, vocal and acting techniques.  Campers will dazzle family and friends with an onstage performance in the Randolph Theatre on the last day of camp.

MUSICAL THEATRE CREATION LAB

Randolph Kids Musical Theatre Creation Lab from Randolph Academy on Vimeo.

In this leadership skill building program, students spend 9 days of intense creation, exploration and performance work to conceive, write and star in a one act musical to be presented on the last day of camp.  Our director will guide students in choosing a theme and plot, as well as writing scenes and songs.  With the help of the musical director, the students will learn about song structure and meaning, choosing the tone, style and melody of each piece.  Choreography design and character development will be explored to build meaningful movements unique to each character and piece.  Students themselves will generate specific characters and strengthen acting skills such as intentions, beats, tactics, wins and losses.  Voice and text work and a group warm up will be part of each rehearsal day.  In the creation lab, an emphasis is placed on team work, improvisation and exploration, and professional theatre etiquette. The performance will be filmed, and all students will receive a link to the recording.
