Mark Wilson is a graduate of the University of Toronto?s Opera Division, has an Artist Diploma from U of T, as well as an honours B.F.A from York University. He sings with the Canadian Opera Company as a long time member of its chorus. He has been a company member of the Stratford Festival, and has sung in opera and in concert with the Manitoba Opera, Vancouver Opera, Festival Canada, Festival of the Sound, Aldeburgh Festival, New Music Concerts, and Westben Arts Festival, among others. Other studies have been at The Banff Centre, The Britten Pears School, and further vocal studies in Paris with Camille Maurane. Marcus has given vocal lessons, coachings, and workshops in and around Toronto. He has given lectures and masterclasses at Wilfred Laurier University and is a frequent visitor to the University of Manitoba. There he has given masterclasses and classes in French Art Song since 1994, and was vocal instructor in 2000. He has given recitals at the U of M, as well as classes for the Division of Preparatory Studies. For the Canadian Opera Company he has given lectures and numerous workshops for their Education Department. He has also given workshops at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Second City Training Centre and has coached at the George Brown Theatre School. In addition to being Vocal Area Coordinator at RAPA, Mark teaches Randolph Chorale, Men?s Choir, Vocal Tutorials, and Music Theory.
