Nigel Hamer



Nigel has been working as a professional actor for thirty years. A graduate of Ryerson Theatre School, he has been fortunate to have worked as an actor, singer and dancer in all disciplines of his art, including Theatre, TV, Film, Voice-Over, Animation, Industrial and Corporate. Nigel spent five seasons at the Stratford Festival playing such roles as Orlando (As You Like It ), Tybalt in (Romeo & Juliet), Bertram in ( Alls Well That Ends Well), Hardy (Journey?s End), Harry the Horse ( Guys and Dolls), Maurice Duclois (Fallen Angels) and performing in Hello Dolly, Pirates of Penzance, She Stoops to Conquer, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Anything Goes and Irma La Douce. Other theatre credits include Sound of Music (Mirvish Productions), Democracy (Tarragon Theatre), Feel Good (Theatre New Brunswick), Man of La Mancha (Theatre Aquarius), A Midsummer Nights Dream (Can Stage), Shenandoah (Broadway, NYC), Much Ado About Nothing (Theatre By The Bay), Aladdin andCash On Delivery (Drayton) and played Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew here at Randolph?s (Bathurst Street Theatre). His vast TV/film credits include recent Guest Star roles on Wingin? It and Really Me, playing Father Brian in the soon to be released feature St. Roz, recurring roles on Degrassi the Next Generation and Radio Free Roscoe, various Principle and Featured roles in Celine, The Note, All Hat, Bugs, The 11th Hour, Sue Thomas FBI, Little Brother, The Sons of the Mistletoe, In a HeartBeat, The Mitchell Brothers, The Loretta Claiborne Story, Me and My Shadow, Interstate 60, Parkland, Code Name Eternity, The Raven, Ambrose, Hardy Boys, Blue Murder, Closer and Closer, Ultimate Betrayal, Road to Avonlea, Ecstacy, Earth Final Conflict, And Then There Was One, JFK the Mini-Series, Top Cops, The Dinosaur Project and played Hillary Duff?s dad in Cadet Kelly. Nigel has also been fortunate to have shot over one hundred commercials and can be seen now as the bartender pouring beer for Rickards. He makes his home in Burlington where he plays his most important role of Father to daughters Alyssa and Julia who, by some weird twist of fate have both chosen to study the sciences
