The Randolph Academy's founder and president George Randolph recently travelled to China as the sole arts representative in the delegation accompanying Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne in her first-ever Economic and Trade Development mission. The delegation also included Brad Duguid, Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, and Michael Chan, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade. While in Shanghai, George engaged in talks regarding developing a Triple Threat/musical theatre-based arts education curriculum for Shanghai's elementary schools. The program would be co-developed by Randolph Academy faculty and members of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. An official letter of intent was signed on October 28 at the Fairmont Peace Hotel.
